Washbasins
Throughout history water has always been important, fundamental for life itself. Therefore the first containers were used to carry water, and from the animal bledders to dried pumpkins or fruit shells, mankind thought it over and developed an infinitive series of containers for all purposes, destinated to be filled with water: pots, glasses, bottles, barrels, bathtubs, tanks, pitchers, jugs and so on. Oh yes, and also basins.
Washbasins are basically water containers developed from the original basin form and function to be linked to the aqueduct net. From the faucet water gets in, flows through the provided drain hole and goes out.
On this simple concept, designers and producers have projected and created many shapes with the same function, in all the possible materials, from the natural ones like stone and marble, to the manufactured metal and glass, to the synthetic resins and plastic materials.
