You can say a sofa to be modern when it has a clear and elegant shape and can suit any interior without being an imposing presence, adding beauty to the space and the living in a gentle way, by simple and straight lines.. Modern sofas are upholstered and padded while the covers can be either leather or fabric.
The look of a modern sofa is made to last and not intrude too much in the furnishing of your living space, even if much depends on the colour chosen. Colours come in a wide palette from the cert white or black to the less obvious pastel or fashion shades.
The pricing is also very variable from inconspicuous (or at least quite reasonable) to distinctly expensive, depending from the materials used and the eventual brand of the manufacturer.
The dimensions are not always influencing in the matter of price, most of the value depends more on the materials and the type of production. For example, a machine-sewn piece is much likely better priced than a hand-sewn modern sofa.
