The minimal sofas
The minimal sofas we appreciate most are those who don't lose grip on the furniture purpose, which is to serve and be used, not only displayed.
The reality shows that the golden rule of the Bauhaus (function&design should walk together arm in arm according to these roughly summarized guidelines), although sensible and down-to-earth, is sometimes unheard and ignored, in favor of an extremely driven product that is more a beautiful piece of art on display than a beautiful piece of furniture for use.
Speaking beauty of course everybody has his own and what makes a heart beat accelerate with greed and longing, makes another heart sink and feel poorly. Our own guidelines: simplicity, usability, a touch of invention and originality, self-consciousness and contemporary to futuristic look: all this best if sustainability comes along but it seems the majority is more and more aware of the problem.
Thus, we feel minimal sofas are a part of the project of making the superfluous, well, superfluous and leave the essential in sight and lat but not least in use. They are mostly built in accordance to the strictest environmental laws and are made in linear forms so to avoid any decorative excess, their plus is the end result that has something indefinable that makes you (us) go oooh and aaah.
