If there is a piece of decoration that is really essential in a house or in any other building it is the door.
The doors are useful panels fixed by hinges or by other sliding or swiveling mechanisms to a threshold or a rail, making it slide sidewards, bend inwards or outwards like a book, pivoting on one side to allow passage in or out of a room or building.
The doors are made in various materials, the internal doors are mostly in wood multilayer or hollow made, to be both light to move and resistant, sometimes they are provided with glass parts so to let light in or to allow see-through.
The external doors are heavier in construction, often armored or with bolts and other devices protecting the house or the building from the unwanted access of non-invited people - not necessarily burglars or miscreant racketeers. Someone who happens not to have the keys is enough. At times even too much, because some tend to forget their keys around and remain unwillingly locked out.
