It is virtually impossible to get to know someone who doesn't show any feeling towards the bed. For all the history of man and of all creatures, sleeping has been a primal need together with nourishment. It is proved that no living being can ever survive without sleeping the necessary time, and that all creatures are most vulnerable during their rest. Every single creature chose in their evolution the best way to rest out of reach from perils and dangers and from natural enemies which could profit of that unprotected state.

Another feature for making sleep really regenerating: it should be carried out as comfortably as can be. After long centuries of prototypes and trials made of straw, animal skins, woollen padded lining, man finally came to invent the bed, a rectangular/square/round frame leaning on feet which hosts an according cushion more or less softly padded (the mattress), completed by large pieces of fabric (the sheets), by blankets or quilts and pillows. Latest trends and technologies contribute to offer the best in ergonomics, in comfort and accessories, not to mention the utmost variety in styles.

The result is a bed, the warm place you find so hard to leave in cold winter mornings when you pretend not to hear the alarm clock, the place you dream of when you are dead tired, the fresh embrace in hot summer nights with the window open (or the air conditioning on) and the crickets singing below the full moon.
